Lack Of Funding Will Drive Talent Away, Says Theatre Director |

A LEADING theatre director has warned that the country’s brightest stars will work in England or abroad if more money was not provided to secure grassroots arts projects. Clwyd Theatr Cymru director Terry Hands said there were “glaring discrepancies” between the amount of cash being ploughed into arts projects in Scotland, compared to Wales. At the launch of the Mold theatre’s autumn schedule, Mr Hands blamed Whitehall for the funding shortage and branded the National Assembly “the best invention the English have come up with to neglect Wales”.
