| Movement Artist, Musician and Capoeira Teacher. I am a percussionist and movement artist trained in the Afro-Brazilian discipline Capoeira. Originally from North Wales I became involved with community groups, projects and events there in 1994. I have been leading workshops, education projects and professional masterclasses in both percussion and movement styles. Having first qualified as a Capoeira teacher in 2004, I now hold the title "Monitor" as recognized by "Associação de Capoeira Senzala Santos". I run "Capoeira Mocambo" with regular classes in Bangor, North Wales. You can see some footage on my You Tube channel "Capoeira Mocambo". I am a member of the North Wales Dance Collective management team. I also use my skills learnt in Capoeira to diversify from the traditional form using the discipline as a base for work in Contemporary Dance, Site specific improvisation and Physical Theatre. I been involved with performances and tours with in fusions of various art forms for over ten years. I teach comfortably in English Welsh and Portuguese. |
