Etch by devised by the company |
First presented in 2001 by National Dance Company Wales |
synopsis: Inspired by conversations that took place in the Company's dance studios with the artist Harry Holland. The use of light, perspective and narrative within Holland's paintings led to experiments with lighting and shadows, using dancers to step in and out of single point lights, masking each other and casting silhouettes. Working with classical baroque music, the simple beginning produced vibrant images, and a strong human narrative thread emerged. Directed by Roy Campbell-Moore |
