venue policy The opening of Galeri is a special and exciting occasion for Caernarfon which marks a significant development for the arts and creative industries in North Wales.

It has taken Cwmni Tref Caernarfon 10 years to complete the work on this building from when the idea of creating a Creative Enterprise Centre was first presented to the company's Board in 1995.

Galeri is a building to use and to enjoy...come and tell us about your favourite films and the sort of music you would like to hear in Galeri. Think about Galeri when you are looking for a location to hold an event, festival or conference. And don't forget about the DOC Cafe Bar, which is located in Galeri - the ideal place to meet socialise, eat, drink or just relax with a newspaper and a cuppa or a pint.

This £7.5m project was funded by the Arts Council of Wales Lottery Fund, Welsh Assembly's Local Regeneration Fund, ERDF Objective 1 programme, Wales Tourist Board, Welsh Development Agency and Cwmni Tref Caernarfon. The Centre has been built on land which was sold for the purpose by Gwynedd Council.

The centre has been designed by award-winning Edinburgh based architects Richard Murphy and built by Bangor-based builder, Watkin Jones Ltd.

Galeri includes a 400-seat theatre, two large rehearsal studios, Art Space, Café Bar, rooms for hire and enterprise units
