Bonnie Bird choreography fund

The Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund was established 17 years ago to support emerging choreographers. This year the fund is offering 6 different awards across 3 categories.

The UK New Choreography Awards aim to support new and emerging choreographers in the UK. Up to three separate awards of £1,500 are made to financially support and aid choreographic practice or research. There is no requirement for the production of a new choreographic piece and recipients can use the award to support their current practice and research. Choreographers working in any style of dance can apply and applicants can either be at an early stage of their careers, or can be established choreographers considering a major change in the direction of their choreographic practice.

The Marion North Mentoring Scheme provides two winners with a mentor who is an established choreographer or dance artist currently working in the industry.

The Chris De Marigny Dance Writers’ Award is aimed at supporting and developing new and emerging dance writers in the UK. One award of £1,250 is available to support or fund a project or study that will help develop the writer's skills. Dance writers, writing in any form, style or context are welcome to apply. The award is aimed at writers who have not received regular or substantial exposure in public print and who have been based in the UK for at least one year.
