Mask and Movement is an extended workshop being run by the Trestle Theatre Company from Friday 30th July - Sunday 1st August at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre. It is suitable for practitioners and adult (15+) performers, offering intensive training in physical theatre, improvisation, and mask work. The workshop costs £40 (£30), and includes: Non-verbal communication. The rules of the mask The relationship between muscular tension and movement. Finding a physical vocabulary. Creating character through mask and movement Creating a story through complex movement sequences Status Caricature and pastiche Improvisation and devising techniques Focus and the relationship of mask with audience Stagecraft No previous experience of mask work is necessary.
