The theatre in Wales awards were announced last night at Aberystwyth Arts Centre. The winners were:Best English language production : ImMortal – No Fit State Circus Best welsh language production: Shinani’n Siarad – Rhosus Cochion Best dance or performance piece : The House Project – RIPE / Marc Rees Best male actor: Marc Rees in Shed*Light Best female actor: Nia Gwynne in Ghost City Best new writing: Ghost City, written by Gary Owen and produced by Sgript Cymru In addition to the six main categories there was also a special award, the James Westaway award for the most promising young performer in Wales.
