The theatre in Wales awards were announced last night at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.

Best English language production : ImMortal – No Fit State Circus
Best welsh language production: Shinani’n Siarad – Rhosus Cochion
Best dance or performance piece : The House Project – RIPE / Marc Rees
Best male actor: Marc Rees in Shed*Light
Best female actor: Nia Gwynne in Ghost City
Best new writing: Ghost City, written by Gary Owen and produced by Sgript Cymru

In addition to the six main categories there was also a special award, the James Westaway award for the most promising young performer in Wales. The award this year went to Lisa Zahra for her performance as Imogen in Wales Theatre Company's production of Cymbeline.
