Community Dance Wales is offering two workshops in February for dance practitioners at the following venues: The Nia Technique 5th February, The Dance Studio, Blackwood Comprehensive School Nia combines martial, dance and healing arts to deliver health, fitness and creativity. It is effective with mixed ability community groups, arts and mental health projects, schools, arthritis sufferers and older participants. Instructed by Fiona Winter, the workshop provides a base for adapting routines to the needs of a class or individuals and can expand the vocabulary of movement teaching. Henri Oguike Dance Company/NYDW 25th February, Powys Dance, Llandrindod National Youth Dance Wales' artistic director, Henri Oguike will be working with practitioners to prepare for NYDW 2005. Professionals are given a chance to explore the work of the company and engage with their creative process. Workshops run from 10am to 4pm, cos:t £15 in advance or £20 on the day. Access grants are available to those in need of financial assistance with travel, accommodation, childcare and class cover. To register visit the website and fill out the online registration form.
