Theatre in Wales

The latest theatre, dance and performance news

We weren't alone in arts move

SIR - In Karen Price's otherwise excellent article on the arts outside Cardiff (Western Mail, January 22), there is I'm afraid a misunderstanding.

The £250k given for the arts outside Cardiff did indeed provide Welsh audiences with seven productions that they would not otherwise have been able to see - but they were not all produced by Clwyd Theatr Cymru.

Michael Bogdanov brought three Shakespeares to Swansea and Llandudno, the RSC performed in Ebbw Vale and further productions came from Diversions and Cwmni Mega.

We provided one - Brassed Off. This year with more money available we hope to provide more.
