Cash lifeline for mobile theatre
|
CASH was confirmed yesterday to continue Clwyd Theatr Cymru's mobile theatre, which takes productions to some of Wales' deprived communities.
The money will come from £1m for the arts outside Cardiff during the next financial year.
Culture minister Alun Pugh confirmed an extra £2m for the arts, as the budget for the Arts Council of Wales rises by 9.7% to £26.6m.
"There is no doubt the arts make a major contribution to the quality of life. Since devolution, investment in the arts in Wales has almost doubled from £14.5m in 1999 to this year's record £26.6m," Mr Pugh said.. |
