Center for Children’s Theatre Development (CCTD) has extended an invitation to Mr. Gareth Potter to work in Kosova with a group of young people in the town of Kaçanik.
Kaçanik was directly affected by the 1999 war and the cultural life there has not yet recovered; although the theatre infrastructure remains in good condition, cultural activities are very poor and underdeveloped. During his stay in Kosova, Mr. Potter is also invited to direct a short monodrama that will tour villages in the region and to attend the next International Festival in Slovakia.

CCTD is the only organization in Kosova dealing with children’s and youth theatre. With a lack of theater experts in Kosova, CCTD strives to bring international theater professionals to work with the theatre community here, including both professional and non-professional actors. In September 2004, Mr. Potter directed a very successful show called Forbidden Lesson that is currently touring Kosova, and we would be grateful for the opportunity to work with him again. However, CCTD is small non-governmental organization and our financial situation prevents us for being able to fully fund this proposed project. Thus, we hope that Mr. Potter can find external funding sources to help cover the travel costs and living expenses associated with this project.

We would like to thank in advance all those who help us to bring Mr. Potter to Kosova, and whom help improve the quality of theatre for young people in Kosova by contributing to this project.
