Theatr Iolo in Scotland

Theatr Iolo is back in Scotland today, with performances of the acclaimed “Are We There Yet?” at the NEAC in Edinburgh. The company has once again been invited to perform at Imaginate, the Bank of Scotland International Children’s Theatre Festival. It is a great opportunity for the company to be seen by delegates from around the world, performing alongside internationally renowned companies from Denmark, France, Belgium and Canada amongst others.

“Are We There Yet?”, directed by Sarah Argent for Theatr Iolo, was hugely successful during two tours to nurseries in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Both tours were sold out within days by nursery schools, and in the words of Coed Glas Nursery School in Cardiff:

“Absolutely fantastic! The children were completely absorbed and transfixed by your performance (as were the adults).”

After successful performances at Take Off, an annual festival dedicated to presenting the best of children’s theatre to the professionals who create, present and fund plays for schools, “Are We There Yet?” has received many invitations to perform at festivals in Europe.

Since then, “Are We There Yet?” has had successful performances in Oulu, Finland, the Festival à Charleroi, Belgium, the Ciao Festival in Berkshire, and the Luaga and Losna festival in Austria.

Following two days of performances at the NEAC, the company will be taking the production into nursery schools around Edinburgh.
