The Squeeking Beauty by Odyssey Theatre gives a brand new slant on this classic tale, as it romps through 100 years of Cardiff’s history from the perspective of the mice who live beneath our feet.

Beauty, daughter of the Bute mice family, crosses the tracks in search of adventure only to be struck down by a speak of coal dust from a passing truck. As she sleeps she dreams of all the things that happened in Cardiff as a City over 100 years… Then there’s a Prince and a kiss! As Cardiff celebrates 100 years as a City this is a must see event!

This will be Richard Berry’s first Odyssey production as writer and director. In previous years Hijinx’s Artistic Director Gaynor Lougher has written and directed the Odyssey plays - this year Gaynor will be taking to the stage and performing as Nursey!

Odyssey Theatre are collaborating with Community Music Wales and Canton and Riverside Day Services for the 4th time. Community Music Wales provides trained and experienced community tutors, equipment, advice and support to give people the opportunity to write, play, record or perform their own music.

Odyssey Theatre is a mixed ability performance group including adults with learning disabilities, set up by Hijinx Theatre in 1999.

Odyssey Theatre are grateful for the support of the Mencap City Foundation.
