Acting Out celebrate Cardiff 2005 through film

Acting Out Cardiff are delighted to announce the screening of their film, My Life Through a Letterbox, at The Sherman Theatre on Friday 1 July 2005 at 1.30pm and 8pm.

My Life Through a Letterbox is a filmed collaboration between Acting Out Cardiff and Practical Media with funding from Cardiff 2005, that will take the audience on a historical journey of Cardiff over the past 100 years. Filmed on location, Year 10 students will give a glimpse into issues that have affected the inhabitants of Cardiff throughout the decades. Acting Out will explore the past and reflect on the present through research, interviews and performance.

Acting Out Cardiff is an initiative between Cardiff Schools Service and The Sherman as part of the Shared Vocational Provision and Extended Opportunities Programme. Aimed at Year 10 and Year 11 pupils, Acting Out Cardiff projects take pupils out of the classroom and give them hands-on experience and accreditation in a professional arts environment.  Last year Acting Out Cardiff's contribution to education was rewarded with a Premier Youth Work in Wales Excellence Award for the production No Man's Land.

My Life Through a Letterbox will be screened twice at The Sherman on Friday 1 July at 1.30pm and 8pm. Tickets are £2 and are available from the Box Office on 029 2064 6900.
