LAST CHANCE TO BOOK FOR THE ACW CONFERENCE

With less than a week to go until The Arts Council of Wales 3rd Annual
Conference, the closing date for registrations has been extended to 3pm
on Friday 15th July. To book your place on the conference, held this
year at the Wales Millennium Centre go to

Held on 20 & 21 July 2005 World Class Wales? will explore the
international dimensions of the arts in Wales - our performance on the
global stage and how we measure up against international standards.

Through plenary debates, workshop sessions and opportunities to
network, we shall be asking how Wales is engaging with the rest of the
world; how we bring the best of the world to Wales; and how we broaden
our international experiences, for artists and audiences.

The conference aims to encourage the arts community in Wales to look
even further beyond its borders, to build on what we have already
achieved, and to map a way forward for the years that lie ahead.

The conference is aimed at all those who have a role to play in
ensuring the arts in Wales have the vision, talent, leadership and
resources to succeed in the future - artists, arts workers from the
public and private sectors, as well as those in academia and the media.

All Conference delegates are invited to the drinks reception held at
the end of Day1 hosted by the Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Councillor Freda
Salway. The reception will include a reading from Capital Poet, Gillian
Clarke.

And why not join us for "One Enchanted Evening", a cabaret evening
to celebrate 25 years of the Night Out Community Touring Scheme, which
will take place at 7.45pm, Wednesday 20th July on the Main Stage of the
WMC. The evening will feature a host of artists who have appeared on the
Community Touring Scheme, compered by Frank Henessy. Tickets are
available at a special discounted rate of £5 for conference delegates.
