Patrick Jones New Play ‘Absents’ will be given a script-in hand performance at Chapter, Cardiff on September 28th at 8pm. Director Michael Kelligan has been working with the author developing the script of this tough and taut drama dealing with the very difficult subject of child access after a break down in marriage. The play, which will be performed by Nathan Sussex who played the name part in Hijinx Theatre’s production of ‘I Shot Buffalo Bill’ and his real-life partner, Stacey Daly who played the part of Sylvia Plath in ‘Two of Me Now’ by Cardiff Poet Susan Richardson in the last On The Edge season, contains all the poetry and passion that is the trade mark of Patrick Jones’ writing and deals uncompromisingly with what is a very real issue today. The performance coincides with and will be part of the International Children’s Right Council’s world-wide Equal Parent Week “Equal Parents' Week is a movement which sends the message that parental rights and responsibilities must be shared equally by both parents”. Communities around the world will be holding candlelight vigils on September 29, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. local time. A candle will be lit at the performance of the play and purple awareness ribbons will be available to the audience |
