NOT TO BE MISSED On The Edge Presented by Michael Kelligan 19 October Chapter Arts Centre 8PM BIRTHMARKS BY MARK JENKINS Having achieved world wide success with his two one-man plays 'Playing Burton,' exploring the life of Richard Burton and Rosebud, a double Edinburgh fringe award winner in 2004, looking at the work and life of Orson Welles, Mark Jenkins now turns the spotlight on Karl Marx. We see his domestic struggles in his early life as he and Engels struggle to complete The Communist Manifesto and compete with one another at making babies. Karl Marx was recently voted the World's Greatest Philosopher by listeners to Melvyn Bragg's BBC Radio 4 programme 'In Our Time' Playing Burton has played in Boston, Sydney, Adelaide, Wellington, The Irish Repertory Theatre, Manhattan, Hong-kong, Israel, Budapest and many other cities throughout the World. Rosebud visits include The Michael Schimmel Theatre, Manhattan, Toronto, The Hull Truck Theatre, The Lowry and The Peggy Ashcroft Theatre. The script-held performance will be directed by Arwel Gruffydd who, as an actor played the leading role in the acclaimed S4C series Treflan. As a director his first film 'Cyn Elo'r Haul' was the winner of the coveted DM Davies award in 2002.
