A Piece of Cake By Kevin Hammonds This play will take place on Friday 24th February and Saturday 25th February at 7.30pm and will be held at The Academy’s Venue (NPMS Hall) 1 Queens Hill Crescent, Newport. The Synopsis Brian is all set to marry Felicia. His friends Gary (gay) and Steve (straight) throw him a bachelor party replete with stripper. Events are turned upside down, though, when the stripper turns out to be Brian's ex-lover.... his ex-MALE lover. To complicate matters further, Felicia has stolen into the party disguised as a pizza delivery boy and is an eyewitness to the reunion. A blizzard of farcical recriminations follow with the question of just who arranged for Lance (the stripper) to appear at the party at the centre of it all? This production is the Welsh premiere and AMT-Wales have been granted permission to perform it by the New York playwright – Kevin Hammonds. Entertaining Mr Sloane By Joe Orton This play will take place on Friday 3rd March and Saturday 4th March at 7.30pm and will be held at The Academy’s Venue (NPMS Hall) 1 Queens Hill Crescent, Newport The Synopsis Kath's language may be prim, but her intentions are blatant when she picks up Mr. Sloane and takes him in as a lodger. Attractive, mischievous, and dangerous, Sloane eventually has Kath, her brother Ed, and their father Kemp eating out of his hand as they compete for his favours. Together they play out a sexual tug-of-war, sparking a series of murderously funny events in this survival-of-the-fittest power struggle where they will resort to anything to get what they want.
