Have you ever wondered why hotels never seem to have a Room 13 ?

Have you ever wondered why hotels never seem to have a Room 13 ? Carlson Dance Company take us to the imaginary world of room thirteen in their new show ‘Gwesty – Room 13’, which tours Wales in May and June.

‘Gwesty’ is the Carlson’s first new work since 2004 and the Company is very excited about the show which features Emma Carlson, Company regulars Sarah Dowling, Siobhon Maguire and Iain Payne as well as new recruit Doug Comley of Swansea’s  ‘Dynion’.  In classic Carlson style the show juxtaposes humour and poignancy whilst exploring the mysteries of the elusive ‘Room 13’, so seldom to be found in hotels around the world.

‘Gwesty’ has a funky and eclectic soundtrack featuring the likes of Nick Cave, LCD Soundsystem and Arcade Fire, as well as ‘70s Welsh folk duo Toni ac Aloma !  This heralds quite a departure from the piano led style of recent shows by the Company and this fresh approach is reflected in the style of the performance.
