HENRI OGUIKI AND NATIONAL YOUTH DANCE WALES

National Youth Dance Wales hits the road again this summer in the third
and final year of artistic partnership with Henri Oguiki and his company.

Welshman Henri has been the Artistic Director and principal choreographer for NYDW since 2004 and combines the position with that of running his very own successful full-time company in London. This year his own company has received exceptional reviews and plaudits for their Spring tour and this summer he (and some of his company) de-camp to Cardiff to work with the 30 strong NYDW Company.

NYDW members are drawn from all over Wales and auditioned annually - the
age range this year is 16-21 years old with some members still at schools in Wales - and some members have gone onto London Dance colleges with a view to a professional career in dance.

'small theatres' is the new work for NYDW for 2006 and will include all the trademarks of an Henri Oguiki piece; sharp, quirky and full of pace and energy.

'small theatres' premieres at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff on 1st August, after an intensive two week rehearsal period and then tours to Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold, on 3rd August.
