Crash hits west Wales Crash written and directed by Firenza Guidi

ELAN Cymru, Coleg Sir Gâr Performing Arts Department and LLAIS are currently in rehearsal for “Crash”. Young performers and technicians from Carmarthenshire will soon be collaborating with other young performers from Italy, Germany, Iceland and France in a live promenade performance at Aberglasney Gardens. The performance of “Crash” will be devised specifically for the Gardens.

At the bottom of the lake there are hard stones. Everything you throw in there turns to stone. What were these things before? Animate or inanimate? Shoes or uniforms or people? Thoughts, or mud-cities buried underground?

Crash is a site-specific performance which takes as its starting point the question: is demolition a sign of new beginnings or is it an attempt to erase traces of the past?

“The performances in Aberglasney will be the culmination of the ‘Creatio – creative power stations project’. The project has consisted of interlinked but unique site specific performances in each of the five transnational partner countries. It has show-cased young artists who, working alongside a European team of professional practitioners have created exhilarating spectacles mixing physical theatre, narrative, dance, live music and dynamic visuals, combining light installations and live DV projection.
The participants in “Crash” will integrate young European performers with representatives from LLAIS, Coleg Sir Gâr and local schools.

The press described Director Firenza Guidi’s production of ‘Immortal’ for No Fit Sate Circus as an “experience that will stay with you forever”.

The performances in Aberglasney on 31st August and 1st September will be the only UK performances of this incredible project. The stunning backdrop of the gardens will undoubtedly create an unforgettable fusion of live installation in an unforgettable setting.
Tickets are limited; contact the box office 01558 668998 to secure your reservations. (Please note that the performance is a promenade style performance with limited seating.)
