Blackwood Miners’ Institute’s autumn/winter season kicks off this September with singer/songwriter Amy Wadge and the top quality music continues throughout the season with Peter Karrie, Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra, The Poozies, Forever in Blue Jeans, Carols by Candlelight and much more…The programme also offers an exciting choice of drama with Frank Vickery’s hilarious Family Planning and the Love & Madness Ensemble’s double bill of Henry V and Playboy of the Western World in October. You could also give dance a go this autumn with southern India’s foremost Kathakali Company and Independent Ballet Wales return with Giselle. There is also a chance to see some of the UK’s brightest comedy stars in two evenings of stand-up comedy. Edinburgh & Beyond in October features a line up of four top comedians direct from the Edinburgh Festival followed by Craig Campbell & Rhod Gilbert in November. Also enjoy our programme of light entertainment, with Roll Out the Barrel, Mad about the Musicals and Tony Jacob’s The Gershwin Years. Families are also spoilt for choice with no less than five shows for children, including popular favourites like the Mr Men and Little Miss Show, Hansel & Gretel, and the Sherman Theatre’s The Happy Prince. Of course, the highlight of the autumn/winter season is always the Christmas panto and this year’s production of Peter Pan will be no exception, tickets are on sale now for this all-flying musical adventure for all the family brought to you by The Owen Money Theatre Company, starting on 13th December. The new autumn/winter brochure is out beginning of September – call the Box Office on 01495 227206 to order your copy. |
