NEXT TIME ON THE EDGE - State of the Nation

NEXT TIME ON THE EDGE - State of the Nation Following its well received production of the early Twentieth century play Taffy by Caradoc Evans, On The Edge jumps forward eighty years for its next State of The Nation rehearsed reading.

On Thurs 5th October at the Chapter Arts Centre Michael Kelligan will present Sleeping With Mickey by leading Rhondda playwright Frank Vickery. Award winning Cardiff based actor Christine Pritchard will recreate the role of Eileen. She will directed by Australian David Britton as part of the season’s aim of putting Wales and Welshness under the objective scrutiny of  ‘outsiders’

“On the surface only Frank Vickery’s immense sympathetic creation, Eileen, is removed from her creator – she is, after all. a mature lonely mother. We cannot but feel however, that there is a good deal of real-life drama and suffering in her fictional story. A character created  by the author as his way of trying to make sense of the world.” David Adams

Tickets £3 (on the door)
