RIVERFRONT PANTO CAST CAUSE MISHIEF ON LOCAL FARM!
|
Last week, the cast of this year’s Riverfront panto Jack and The Beanstalk met up for a photo-shoot at Greenmeadow Community Farm in Cwmbran and got up to all sorts of mischief!
Jack and friends met up for the first time to have photos taken since the line-up was announced and even Daisy the pantomime cow was there! The cast were in high spirits and paraded around in character, signing autographs and entertaining visitors at Greenmeadow.
Following the success of Dick Whittington and Cinderella, The Riverfront will again be teaming up with Hiss and Boo to produce another seasonal comedy cracker. Last year, audiences were rolling in the aisles at the antics of the hilarious Ugly Sisters Brian Hibbard (Emmerdale, Pobol y Cwm) and Lee Mengo, so by public demand, they’re back this year for more panto madness and mayhem. Joining them will be Rainbow star Jane Tucker (of Rod, Jane and Freddy fame) and Ieuan Rhys (Pobol y Cwm).
See the enormous magic beanstalk grow before your very eyes, as the rascally Jack and his motley crew battle with the evil Giant. Will the giant really eat daisy the cow? Will Jack win the heart of Jill? Will the Fairy’s magic work over the Rainbow? And, will they all live happily ever after?
Get ready to boo the evil Nasty Chalice (Brian Hibbard) and the toe-curling giant played by Jamie Anderson, cheer for the sparkling Fairy Rainbow (Jane Tucker), courageous Jack (Mark James), his put-upon Mother Dame Trott (Lee Mengo), Cathryn Davies as the lovely Jill and Ieaun Rhys as the noble Old King Coal of Newportville.
Jane Tucker expressed great excitement at the prospect of returning to Wales to perform, saying, ‘I’m so looking forward to playing in Wales again. When we were touring with ' Rod Jane and Freddy' we always got marvellous audiences in Wales. Lovely people, loyal fans. The Riverfront in Newport is a fabulous Theatre and I'm going to enjoy playing Fairy Rainbow in this year’s Panto Jack and the Beanstalk.’
With a top notch comedy cast, many talented Newport youngsters and a gruesome Giant who will make your hair stand on end, this promises to be The Riverfront’s biggest and brightest panto ever!
