Little Red Riding Hood Visits Carmarthenshire Theatres

Little Red Riding Hood Visits Carmarthenshire Theatres Creative, dynamic children’s theatre comes to Carmarthenshire Theatres in the shape of Theatr Powys’ contemporary adaptation of the classic fairytale Little Red Riding Hood, which calls at Ammanford Miners’ Theatre 15 February and Llanelli’s Theatr Elli, 16 February.

In the red moon twilight the wolves gathered. The child heard them, padding from faraway glade, from high stony ridge and from the darkest, most gnarled depths. As the child closed her eyes, willing the morning sun, the wolves spoke long together. They sang. Then they danced… The child woke, tooth and claw still shining behind her eyes and pulled her red cape closer in the early chill. Grandma lived far away and alone. Today she would journey through the forest with her little basket full of food. A feast for the eye, ear, heart and mind for all who are brave enough to stray from the path.

Supported by The Arts Council Of Wales and with almost 30 years experience, Mid Wales’ Theatr Powys are an innovative company committed to devising and creating original new works. Their adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood promises an exciting take on the classic Brothers Grimm tale of a young girl’s encounter with a wolf.

Tickets, priced £5 -£6, are available from the box office 0845 226 3508/09/10
