THEATR POWYS AT LLANOVER HALL
|
Theatr Powys will be touring a new community touring production of the centuries old and much loved fairytale Little Red Riding Hood during the forthcoming months. The company have explored the tale and its history from its delicious oral beginnings through many of its famous literary, visual and filmic forms in order to craft a highly original interpretation of the most famous and faithful of journeys through the forest. Little Red Riding Hood is a play with music that will enchant the family; a feast for the eye, ear, heart and mind for all those brave enough to stray from the path.
As the child closed her eyes, willing the morning sun, the wolves watched. When she woke, tooth and claw still shining behind her eyes, she pulled her ruby red cape closer in the early chill. Grandma lived far away and deeper still. But she must journey there.
Written and directed by Theatr Powys’ Artistic Director, Ian Yeoman with music and sound by Dan Lawrence. Design by Julia Curtis, costumes by Jill Rolfe and lighting by Nick Johnson Walker. Freelance actors Shkelzen Berisha and Olwen Medi join resident acting company Chris Batten, Danie Croft and Naomi Doyle on stage. Amy Chandler also joins the company once again as Stage Manager.
Little Red Riding Hood will be touring extensively across Wales and into England and will be performed at:
LLANOVER HALL ARTS CENTRE, Canton, Cardiff on Tuesday February 19th, 7pm. Please phone (029) 20 63 11 44 for further information or to book tickets.
Suitable for ages 6 and up; Tickets are £6 and £3.
