A SLICE OF PUB LIFE AT THE MUNI The Hull Truck Theatre Company return to the Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd as part of the current Act 6 drama season with a new production of Jim Cartwright’s pub-based comedy Two on Saturday 15 March at 7.30pm.

Far from the melodrama and explosive storylines of the Queen Vic or Rovers Return, Two presents a grittier, more realistic snapshot of Northern pub life; where the only thing in danger of exploding is a packet of peanuts! The action of this award-winning play takes place over the course of one evening in a busy pub where the landlord and landlady are bitter, dysfunctional and constantly bickering - and just as colourful as their clientele; including slick-talking, gold-chained lothario ‘Moth’, Mrs “I love big men” Iger, Smelly Jimmy, and Fred and his wife Alice – who’s never been the same since Elvis died.

Since it’s premiere almost two decades ago, Two has become a classic of British theatre; winning great critical acclaim and proving a huge hit with audiences the world over. Although Two features an array of fourteen larger than life characters, they are all played by just two versatile actors, giving the action a quick-fire humour. Written by leading British playwright Jim Cartwright, whose play ‘The Rise and Fall of Little Voice’ was filmed as ‘Little Voice’ starring Jane Horrocks and Michael Caine, this hilarious and sometimes moving play is guaranteed to touch a nerve for everyone who sees it.

Tickets cost £9.00 with concessions £7.00 and are available from the Muni Box Office on 01443 485934
