Iggy Pop and Stravinsky in Dance Show at Sherman

Iggy Pop and Stravinsky in Dance Show at Sherman The world class Michael Clark Company present an exciting evening on dance set to a soundtrack of Iggy Pop and Stravinsky on 3 – 4 April at Sherman, in their first ever visit to Wales.

Mmm…Stravinsky Part 2 is a highly physical and brutal dance piece set to an exciting score of The Sex Pistols and Iggy Pop juxtaposed with Stravinsky’s piano duet of The Rite of Spring, which will be performed live on stage by pianists Andrew West and Huw Watkins, who is originally from Wales.

Michael Clark is one the most significant dancers and choreographers to have emerged in the last 20 years. Clark is legendary for his collaborations with renowned bands, fashion designers and visual artists including The Fall, Wire, Leigh Bowery and Sarah Lucas and crossing the boundaries between classical dance and contemporary dance.

Mmm…Stravinsky Part 2 is a highly charged and physical piece based around the themes of life, death and renewal. It was heralded a success by major dance critics on its opening in London, and now comes to Cardiff before its US premiere in New York this June. The piece also contains nudity.

Mmm….Stravinsky Part 2 is at Sherman on Thursday 3 – Friday 4 April 7.30pm. Tickets are £16 (Reductions £14, Under 19s £10) and can be book now from Sherman Box Office on 029 2064 6900 or online at
