Rock & Blues Band lead GYPT Benefit Concert
Rock and Blues band Call Me Albert will be among the performers who are coming together for a benefit evening to raise money for Gwent Young People's Theatre at the Melville Theatre, Pen-y-Pound, Abergavenny on Friday 2nd May at 7.30PM.

Call Me Albert will be joined by published poets Ann Drysdale of Blaina, Chris Hall of Abergavenny, Jeff Rees of Blaenavon, Ric Hool of Blaina and former GYPT member Hywel Vaughan of Govilon, with drummer Paul Worthington doubling as a poet as well.

Other band members include blues master Richard Carter-Evans who along with Paul Worthington writes many of the band's numbers; bass guitarist and singer Rob Llewellyn-Feasy whose idea the evening originally was; guitarist Marcus Snow and Martin Thomas on bongos. Other performers will be duo Walker and King, and former Gwent Theatre actor Mike Foulkes will be reciting from Dylan Thomas.

The benefit concert is to raise funds to support GYPT productions. The annual open-air show at Abergavenny Castle this summer will be The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, adapted by Alan Bennett.

The performance at The Melville Theatre on Friday 2 May is at 7.30pm.
