SCOTTISH COMPANIES putting the South East Valleys firmly on the theatre map
|
Blackwood Miners' Institute are delighted to be welcome TAG Theatre Company, one of Scotland’s most acclaimed theatre companies, with their production of Yellow Moon on Wednesday 4th June at 7.30pm.
TAG’s visit to BMI co-insides with the National Theatre of Scotland’s high profile visit to Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre this month putting the South East Valleys firmly on the theatre map.
The Manager of Blackwood Miners’ Institute and myself saw Yellow Moon at the Edinburgh Festival last August and were very impressed. It is set in the round so the audience gets really absorbed in the action, with no set or special lighting just completely relies on the acting, which is superb! It’s simply good quality theatre.
The play is a modern Bonnie and Clyde tale that follows the fortunes of two teenagers on the run. Silent Leila is an introverted girl who has a passion for celebrity magazines. Stag Lee Macalinden is the deadest of dead end kids in a dead end town. They never meant to get mixed up in a murder...but now they need a place to hide.
Why not come along and try something new? Tickets are priced low at the very accessible price of £5 each. The play is 1 hour 15 minutes long with no interval. We can only sell a maximum of 100 tickets for this performance.
The play contains swearing and some challenging content it is therefore suitable for audiences over 15 years old. |
