Actors announced for An Oak Tree at the Sherman
|
Wednesday 4 June - Siwan Morris (Skins, Caerdydd)
Thursday 5 June - Richard Elis (Eastenders, Acqua Nero)
Set in a stage hypnotist’s act, An Oak Tree is a vivid and absurdly comic play about how we fill the gaps in life. It’s performed by two actors; Tim Crouch plays the Hypnotist. The second actor walks on stage having never seen or read a word of the play they’re in...until they’re in it!
An Oak Tree is a bold and challenging story about loss, suggestion and the power of the mind. Its breathless balance of accessible story, complex idea and rich theatricality has been wowing audiences, and actors, worldwide since its award winning premiere at The Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh in 2005.
“Nobody does it quite like Tim Crouch. He’s a theatre-maker unto himself: exceptionally intelligent, quiet and deadpan, barely acting, weirdly gripping.” Independent on Sunday
