ACW announces the TIE franchise

The Arts Council of Wales (ACW) announced today (Thursday, November 11) that Cwmni’r Fran Wen has been successful in its bid for the funding agreement to provide theatre for young people in North Wales.

"We are pleased to make this announcement, which completes our review into the national provision of theatre for young people in Wales," says Joanna Weston, Chief Executive of the Arts Council of Wales. "This forms part of our Drama Strategy. Eighteen months ago, we published our intention to review the way drama is funded in Wales. Our commitment is to support high quality drama for people throughout the whole of Wales. "The new National Assembly for Wales, following on from the Welsh Office, has given this strategy its approval through acceptance of our Corporate Plan. We anticipate that the five Young People’s Theatre franchises awarded this Autumn will open a fresh chapter for professional theatre offered in this sector."
