Hijinx Return To Carmarthenshire Theatres With Latest Gritty Drama "The Other Woman"
|
Making a welcome return to Ammanford after the success of the highly moving and inspiring Full Circle, Hijinx, one of Wales’ most foremost touring companies, hits the Miners’ Theatre with the gritty drama of The Other Woman, 1 October.
Set in WWI, Paul Swift’s tale follows young mother Megan Watkins, who is left alone in an isolated farmhouse. But her life is about to get far more complicated than the everyday struggles when a young, conscientious objector arrives on the doorstep, seeking refuge. When Meg agrees to help by disguising him as Mary Anne, her cousin from Cardiff, she has no idea of the difficulties that will unfold when her husband returns from the front.
Originally researched and devised by Spectacle Theatre, The Other Woman is certain to be a gripping and enchanting watch and follows Hijinx’ wide repertoire of quality productions which include Seize The Day, Estella’s Fire and The Long Way Home.
“Hijinx are past masters of the tight, subtle, disarmingly simple art of dramatic storytelling.”
David Adams ~ The Western Mail.
“Hijinx shows are with almost uncanny reliability little masterpieces, miniatures where every aspect of the product is finely crafted.”
David Adams ~ The Guardian. |
