Swansea Grand Theatre Arts Wing Depot Studio presents Lunchtime Theatre

Saturday lunchtimes in Swansea’s are getting a whole new taste at the Grand Theatre Arts Wing Depot Studio this autumn as it presents a series of Lunchtime Theatre performances, in association with Fluellen Theatre Company.
Following on from the Grand Theatre’s traditional Repertory Season, Saturday Lunchtime Theatre performances are designed to be a tasty treat to enjoy with your lunch. Performances will last for no more than an hour and should see audiences enjoy a diet of ‘locally caught, fresh drama’ using local playwright’s new work in a three month season from September - November
Designed to encourage new audiences to tuck into drama in a very ambient and informal setting, the Lunchtime Theatre series, developed from The Dylan Thomas Centre’s Events programme, will demonstrate that drama is very much alive, well and being enjoyed in Swansea.
Peter Richards, Director of Fluellen Theatre commented, “We have a gastronomic menu of mainly new plays just waiting to be tasted for the first time and having being involved in theatre for many, many years I’m convinced that Swansea audiences will enjoy this new diet of drama”.
Gary Iles, General Manager at Swansea Grand Theatre also said “We see this as a great idea to develop and sustain our drama audiences. It is hoped that we will be working with the Universities and Colleges of the area, together with Fluellen Theatre Company on this exciting new initiative. It is great to see the Arts Wing programme developing further enabling us to attract more audiences for more types of provision”.
