The Apothecary's Story

The Apothecary's Story A young single mother caught up in extraordinary events and in the hands of the police. She is deeply implicated in the deaths of the Capulet girl and the Montague boy. As the inquiry unfolds we learn of the world that is Verona, her place and the place of young people within it and the story she was told by the desperate young man who came through her door that evening.

The Apothecary’s Story is a full day, participatory Theatre in Education programme. It comprises an intense and dynamic performance woven through with a range of drama conventions that will allow the students to explore the relationship between Shakespeare’s play and the situation and concerns of young people struggling to live and grow today. The programme is accompanied by high quality resource materials newly commissioned by the Company.

The Apothecary’s Story is an insightful window on a beautiful play and a demanding, active and collective exploration of life now.
