The young people of Merthyr Academy of Performing Arts get a master class from West End Star! Caroline Sheen who has appeared in many West End shows as leading lady dropped in on Merthyr Academy of Performing Art’s rehearsals for their forthcoming production of the schools edition of Les Miserables this Sunday.
Caroline, who has appeared as Eponine in the West End smash hit musical was on hand to give the company some tips in the final stages of their rehearsals.

Zoe Richards, Director of Merthyr Academy said ‘It was a great opportunity for the cast and company to work with Caroline and also to find out about her career in the West End. In a question an answer session the young people were able to ask Caroline about her career and gain useful suggestions for their characters and performances. It was a great opportunity to bring a little bit of the West End to Merthyr Tydfil, where I believe there are a lot of undiscovered talented young people.’

Caroline who has recently finished the UK tour in the title of Mary poppins is keen to make sure that young people have access to the opportunities that will help them to pursue a career in performing arts. Caroline who was born and grew up in Caerleon, South Wales told the young people about her time in the local youth theatre and how it helped prepare her for a career as a performer.
