ODDSOCKS present ROMEO AND JULIET
|
Sun Dec 27 & Mon Dec 28 at 7.30pm, Wyeside Arts Centre, Builth Wells
Shakespeare’s romantic love story of star-crossed lovers gets the full Oddsocks treatment when this nationally renowned company visits Wyeside once again in December. Passion, power, love, longing, murder and much much more is on the cards as two troublesome teenagers meet amidst festive celebrations and their families’ ancient feud escalates.
One wedding, a funeral and a less than efficient postal system combine to create comic mayhem and tragic consequences in the trademark Oddsocks style that Builth audiences have become addicted to over recent years.
Odd Socks take epic classic texts and adapt them into heart-warming, humourous, vibrant, feel-good theatre performances for all the family. The works of Shakespeare, Dickens, The Brontes, Robert Louis Stephenson, Victor Hugo and many more have all been "Oddsocked" to great effect since 1989.
"Great night out theatre" - The Times Educational Supplement
Taking a light-hearted but respectful attitude to the text, Oddsocks exploit both skill and slapstick, humour and truth, and manage to be both clever and accessible.
"The Bard would be proud" - Jersey Post
Tickets for this and other events can be booked by calling the box office on 01982 552 555.
