Open to creative practitioners in any field, this Residency will provide an overview of community arts practice, including current policy and agenda developments. It will assist artists in; How to write funding bids & pitch ideas; Effective delivery techniques; Access, equality & child protection issues; Preparing risk assessments and the essentials of working as a freelance practitioner such as legislation, contracts and portfolio development.Artists will get the chance to bid to develop a pilot project for a target group identified by Arts Development officers. In addition artists will have the chance to be involved with short term placements to be mentored by artists in the counties of RCT, Caerphilly, Torfaen, Merthyr Tydfil & Blaenau Gwent. So, not only will you get all this fabulous training for FREE, including FOOD and ACCOMMODATION, opportunity to NETWORK and you also possibly get the chance to DELIVER YOUR OWN COMMUNITY ARTS PROJECT! This course is residential and runs 10am March 26th to Midday on the 28th All you have to do is fill in and return a form by Friday the 19th of February.
