Spectacle Theatre – Tails From The Horses Mouth     

Spectacle Theatre – Tails From The Horses Mouth Spectacle Theatre bring history to life with ‘Tails From The Horses Mouth’ - a community play created in partnership with organisations and individuals throughout the locality to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the historic miner’s strike which led to the riots of November 1910.

The project began in 2006 when Spectacle met with Leighton Andrews, AM, to discuss artistic responses to the centenary of the Tonypandy Riots. Since that day the company have worked with literally thousands of people of all ages with the aim of creating and producing a Community play to commemorate the events that took place in 1910. This process has culminated in a rich creative partnership of artists, arts organisations, educational establishments and the wider community coming together, resulting in ‘Tails From The Horses Mouth’

Performances will be held on Wednesday 17th – Friday 19th November at 7pm and Saturday 20th November at 2pm at Llwynypia Community Arts Centre, Coleg Morgannwg Rhondda. A special performance will also be held at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea on Sunday 21st November.
