Funding for the Arts in Times of Austerity

Funding for the Arts in Times of Austerity The Workers Educational Association (South Wales) East Region are pleased to continue their series of lectures addressing "Issues of Our Times" - an opportunity to discuss, debate and understand the issues that affect us all in today's society.

Chris Ryde, organiser for Equity in Wales, the trade union for performers and artists, will give a presentation on

Funding for the Arts in Times of Austerity
The next in the series of free public lectures will be held on:
Thursday 2 December at 8-00pm at The Melville Theatre, Pen-y-Pound, Abergavenny NP7 5UD

We have chosen the venue for two reasons. The WEA has close links with Gwent Young People’s Theatre and funds courses for its young members. It is also the home of Gwent Theatre which is one of a number of arts organisations in South-East Wales to lose Arts Council funding by the end of the financial year.
