Open Workshop
Thursday 14th April 2pm- 5pm
Rehearsal Room 2, Aberystwyth Arts Centre
A workshop with visual artist Maria Hayes and writer Christine Watkins exploring aspects of midlife, particularly the ‘change of life’. We will find words, make notes and - with Maria’s guidance - perform visual mapping using a system of drawing and camera projection. The workshop offers a chance to reflect on the experience of this intriguing phase of life and explore aspects of your own midlife journey. The workshop is open to all women in their mid forties to late fifties. No prior experience in writing or drawing needed.
Practitioners Workshop
Friday 15th April 10am - 4pm
Rehearsal Room 2, Aberystwyth Arts Centre
A practitioners’ workshop with visual artist Maria Hayes and writer Christine Watkins exploring aspects of midlife, particularly the ‘change of life’. This one-day workshop is open to women practitioners in all the arts, from performing artists to printmakers - who are in their mid forties to late fifties. We will find words, make notes and - with Maria’s guidance - perform visual mapping using a system of drawing and camera projection. The workshop is a chance for you as a practitioner to reflect on how – or if – this particular phase of life plays into your practice, and to explore aspects of your own midlife journey.
The workshops are FREE but places are limited (to a maximum of 10 participants) and must be reserved in advance. Please contact the Arts Centre box office on 01970 623232 to reserve your place.
These workshops are run as part of The Tide Tables project presented by Honeysuckle Direction and the Centre for Performance Research (see the performance at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on May 5th). |
