Theatr na n’Og Spring 2012 press release

Theatr na n’Og Spring 2012 press release Theatr na n’Og announce their new season of work for Spring 2012 with a sell out production!

Celebrating 30 years of engaging theatre, 2012 promises to be as successful as ever for Theatr na n’Og with a wealth of shows for a variety of audiences being played across the length and breadth of Wales as well as some new and exciting venues across the UK.

Theatr na n’Og is renowned for entertaining young audiences and this year is no exception as they begin their season with the playful and anarchic Aesop’s Fables, joyously adapted by the talented Keiron Self.

Aesop’s Fables will tour venues throughout Wales in both Welsh and English before travelling onto to the four corners of the UK to theatres in Colchester, Ipswich, London, Birmingham, Stafford and Leeds. And for the first time ever, the company is thrilled to be heading up to The Gardyne Theatre in Dundee.

Phyl Harries, who plays the loveable Mouse in these famous tales, explained “it is really exciting to take our work to audiences throughout the country, and especially Scotland because they have such an impressive reputation of creating work for young people, so we are really looking forward to visiting Dundee at the end of March”.

Following Aesop’s Fables the company will move onto a brand new show called We Need Bees. Having sold out immediately, the usual eight week tour has had to be increased by an extra two weeks. Written by the award winning Kath Chandler, (whose previous success with the company includes the musical The Bankrupt Bride in 2009) We Need Bees tells the plight of the humble little bumble bee and how the fate of an entire colony rests upon the shoulders of one very lazy bee!

We Need Bees is filled with clever humour and boundless fun. It is undoubtedly an ideal summer treat.

Come and join Theatr na n’Og as it begins its birthday celebrations with two great shows for young children and their families.
