|
The highly acclaimed Gwent Young People's Theatre Company who have a reputation for presenting a wide range of plays take up a new challenge with their forthcoming production of Tom Stoppard's dazzlingly brilliant farce 'On the Razzle’.
The action starts when Zangler, a prosperous merchant grocer, decides to wine and dine his intended in town and leaves his shop in charge of two assistants who also decide that whilst the boss is away that they too will have a day out. As they pursue wine, women and song through 1850s Vienna the intricate machinery of plot is soon whirring at full speed to deploy all the elements of classic farce. Two hours of slapstick, shenanigans, mistaken identities, malapropisms, double entendres and romantic complicatons will make you laugh until it hurts.
