Earthfall shortlisted for prestigious Canmol: Wales Marketing Award!
|
On Friday 05 October at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff, Earthfall will be going up against 15 of Wales’s best known brands and businesses, including St David’s Partnership Ltd, Legal & General and Confused.com for a coveted Canmol: Wales Marketing Award.
Earthfall's campaign for their award-winning dance production of At Swim Two Boys in 2011/12, was exceptionally successful, hitting or over achieving every target set. They tripled audience figures from the previous 2 years, increasing average audience capacity by 20% and more than doubling their financial target. In additional Earthfall achieved a national first for any Welsh Dance Company in selling out three weeks in London, before the opening night. The campaign increased their profile across all national media coverage and the production toured to more of the UK than any other Welsh company whilst doubling the number of performances and achieving more than ten times as many sell out nights as their previous tour. Earthfall are revenue funded clients of the Arts Council Wales.
Canmol, means to praise in Welsh and the Awards were created in 2008 to celebrate and promote excellence in the marketing industry in Wales. Canmol is ‘sans frontières’ and will see four winning campaigns receive awards based simply on excellence in their particular context, looking at how creative, strategic thinking in marketing has produced something of true significance.
Earthfall’s Marketing Officer for the campaign Lewis Gwyther commented, “It was a great honour to be shortlisted when we were up against so many great companies. We were very proud of our campaign as it successfully achieved every target we set and really reflected the hard work and passion that we put into marketing the show.”
Jonathan Deacon, Chair Judge, said: “As ever, shortlisting the entries was a difficult task, showing the wealth of talent within the industry in Wales, but 15 brands stood out in particular through highlighting strategic thinking and achieving great results.”
Richard Houdmont, Director for Wales of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, added: “CIM is committed to setting standards and celebrating excellence within the marketing industry and the Canmol Awards help those who enter to benchmark themselves against the best in the country and will spread best practice amongst practitioners in Wales.”
"We're delighted to support these awards which allow the very best from the world of marketing to stand up and gain recognition for their achievements.”
Tickets for the awards ceremony may be purchased through www.cim.co.uk/47831or call 01628 427340.
