Come and see dance being developed at one of Wales’ premier arts venues

Come and see dance being developed at one of Wales’ premier arts venues This autumn National Dance Company Wales, (NDCWales), will offer audiences a unique opportunity to watch dance being created. Following the success of previous seasons, NDCWales launches its Open Rehearsal programme on 9th November, with award-winning Company choreographer Eleesha Drennan, who is developing new work for spring 2013.

People are invited to watch the creative process and will be able to ask Eleesha and the dancers questions about her work.

On 14th December, 11th and 18th January audiences have the chance to see our dancers rehearse the re-staging of Angelin Preljocaj’s Noces, first performed by his company in 1989, and featuring on the Company’s spring 2013 tour. On 14th December and 11th January rehearsals will be led by Angelin’s assistant Claudia De Smet, while Angelin will take the session on 18th January.

“We think it’s important to share the creative development with audiences, as watching dance develop is always exciting,” said NDCWales Artistic Director Ann Sholem. “People like the inclusive and intimate atmosphere, and the Company enjoys opening up the Dance House to them.”

Events are free but ticketed: to book see ndcwales.co.uk. The Company launches its 2012 UK autumn tour in Llandudno at Venue Cymru on 2nd October.
