Caroline Sabin presents...A Curious Zoo
|
It's cold and dark but we're lighting candles and baking pies - laughing in the face of winter but secretly scared that the summer will never come again. Is there enough food? Is there enough firewood and what's that sound outside like a wolf breathing through the letterbox?
Does the wolf have enough to eat...?
An extraordinary multi-award winning band of performers, dancers, writers and composers is squeezing itself into a small terraced house in Canton to delight you this Yuletide with an hour of theatrical entertainment. Jon Gower, Deborah Light, Gerald Tyler and James Williams will transform into strange and fantastical creatures for your pleasure and delectation. Hosted by Dance/Visual Artist Caroline Sabin with lavish costumes by Neil Davies you will enter a rich and magical snow filled environment with quiet beauty, stark and bloody imagery, warm tales, an angel, music, icicles and mince pies.
Be Merry.
Be afraid.
Eat the pie.
''An exquisite haiku - Sabin's approach is gentle, subtle and rather gorgeous on the eye.'' - on LifeDeathLife, The Guardian July 2011.
