New Theatre opens its doors for rare behind the scenes experience |
On Sunday 18 November the New Theatre, Cardiff will throw open her doors for a day of behind the scenes tours. Open to all theatregoers, these free tours will offer a rare opportunity to see what happens backstage, including the dressing rooms, the fly floor and on the stage. Along the way there will be a chance to speak to the people that make it all happen and also a brief demonstration of stage lighting, sound and pyrotechnic effects. The four tours begin at midday, 1.30pm, 3.00pm & 4.30pm on Sunday 18 November and will last approximately 75 minutes. They are limited to 40 people per tour and the minimum age for coming on the tour is 5 years old. Due to the age of the building, the backstage of the New Theatre has limited Access. Anyone who receives a place on the tour and has difficulty with steps, is asked to contact the theatre to discuss their visit. To be in with a chance of going behind the scenes at the New Theatre, applicants need to email ntmailings@cardiff.gov.uk with their contact details, preferred time for coming (listing as many options as possible) and the number of spaces required. There are a maximum of 4 spaces per person available. Alternatively, the same information can be sent on a postcard to Open Day Tours, New Theatre, Park Place, Cardiff, CF10 3LN. The lucky applicants will be picked at random after midday on Thursday 8 November. |
