Julia Donaldson, the Children’s Laureate and popular author, has agreed to be a Patron of Monmouth’s Savoy Theatre. “I think it is vital that we keep local cinemas and theatres open. I thoroughly enjoyed the Savoy when I played the theatre last year and am delighted to be asked now to be a patron. To help the Savoy achieve its fundraising target for digital equipment which is necessary if it is to remain open, I am delighted to announce that I shall be returning to the Savoy on APRIL 14th at 3.30 to perform THE GRUFFALO AND OTHER STORIES. The show will include some of my favourite stories and there will be songs and audience particiapation. I am very much looking forward to it” Chris Ryde, Director of the Savoy, added: “A huge thanks to Julia for agreeing to be a Patron and to give up her valuable time to come here and do a show. We are hoping for a sell out on the 14th to help our fundraising efforts. It promises to be a fabulous day and I understand the Gruffalo is looking forward to it too!” |
