Restoration Comedy In Abergavenny
She Stoops to Conquer at the |Melville Theatre
Thursday 11 April at 7.30pm

Swansea-based Lighthouse Theatre present a new fast-paced adaptation of Oliver Goldsmith's classic comedy of manners, money and mistaken identity when they bring their latest production to the Melville Theatre, Abergavenny on Thursday 11 April.

Wealthy countrymen, eligible daughters, resourceful servants, bumbling suitors, jewels and jealousy – She Stoops to Conquer has all the elements of a classic costume drama in this new four-person adaptation by Jonathan Lamb.

Using their trademark bold story-telling style, Lighthouse bring a lovingly irreverent version of this classic tale to the stage. Expect the unexpected; expect comedy, confusion and capers; and above all else, expect...wigs.

Following the success of Dickens and Dylan in 2012, the company bring She Stoops To Conquer
as part of a tour of Welsh venues prior to a tour of Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Welsh Patagonia.

Combining the talents of Llinos Daniel, a familiar face to viewers of S4C and Sonia Beck, fresh from her successes as Edith Piaf and Stevie in Frank Vickery's Barking, Lighthouse have gathered together one of their most talented companies yet, all directed by Derek Cobley.

For an evening of fast and furious frivolity you can book seats at the Borough Theatre Box Office 01873 850805 or at the Melville on the night priced at £8 and £6 concessions.

• She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith Thursday April 11th at The Melville Theatre, Penypound, Abergavenny at 7.30pm.

The show is presented with the help of Wales Arts International, the Night Out scheme and the City and Council of Swansea.
