Opera’r Ddraig presents an evening of Opera Scenes

Opera’r Ddraig presents an evening of Opera Scenes 14th June 2013 – 7:30pm, Richard Burton Theatre, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama

Opera’r Ddraig presents a showcase of their talented young singers in an evening of opera scenes. Come and discover some Ddraig history as the company performs scenes from their 4-year past. Including favourites from The Magic Flute, The Marriage of Figaro, Dido and Aeneas, Acis and Galatea and Orpheus in the Underworld this night will prove popular among opera regulars and newcomers alike. You’ll even get a glimpse into the future of the company as they give a sneak peek at their production of Così Fan Tutte, which has been modernised for performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the end of August this year. All scenes will be performed in English and international baritone, Eric Roberts, will compère the evening.

Winners of the 2010 Wales Future Entrepreneur Award, Opera’r Ddraig are a unique and exciting social enterprise. They are committed to providing a professional platform for young people who are in the early stages of a career in opera performance, production, administration or education. In addition to their innovative, youth-led productions, they provide educational, fun and immersive experiences for children and young people in the local community through interactive workshops and performances.
